Meet Coach Brandon Sherwood

We’re excited to welcome Brandon to the Carbon Training Centre coaching team!

Born and raised in Southern California, Brandon grew up steeped in martial arts and physical culture—spending most of his youth on the mat or in the gym. After earning his degree in Economics with Latin Honors from Texas A&M, where he was part of the Corps of Cadets and a national-level action shooting competitor, Brandon went on to coach a wide range of clients—from middle schoolers to Masters athletes, and from military and first responders to executives and extreme athletes.

Brandon brings a wealth of experience in human performance coaching and a passion for helping people develop personal agency, self-knowledge, and freedom through training. His values—compassion, discipline, and honesty—show up in every session.

Outside the weight room, Brandon holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, trains in Muay Thai, Kali, Silat, and Wing Chun, and enjoys reading and writing about philosophy, theology, and myth. He’s also a certified Starting Strength Coach and USA Weightlifting Level 2 Coach.

New Group Class Schedule and Membership

When we launched Carbon, we always knew group classes would be part of the vision—the only question was how.

After more than 20 years of designing individualized training programs for athletes and clients—across speed (NCAA Sprinting, USA Bobsled), endurance (USA Triathlon, USA 800m & Mile), and work capacity (MMA, CrossFit, Military)—we’ve learned three key truths:

  1. Only do what you can truly adapt to.
  2. Be specific in what physical ability you want to improve.
  3. Fall in love with the process.

Our group classes are built on these principles. We’ve distilled the methods that brought success in each domain and structured them so you can develop skill and fitness progressively over time.

The Classes

Power Capacity – Improve your ability to repeat high-power efforts. We pair explosive exercises with heavy compound lifts to boost neural drive and maximize output. High-intensity intervals follow, so you can sustain max power—and hit it again and again.

xEndurance – Build the engine that powers everything. Using Concept2 ergs (SkiErg, BikeErg, RowErg), running, and explosive efforts, this class focuses on accumulating volume to strengthen your heart, lungs, and total work capacity—helping you go longer, recover faster, and perform better in any challenge.

Mobility – Targeted stretches, joint health work, and functional movement patterns to improve flexibility, stability, and control. Whether you’re recovering, preparing for intense sessions, or just want to feel better day-to-day, this class helps you move freely, reduce injury risk, and perform at your best.

Origin – A multimodal session designed for robust work capacity and full-spectrum performance. Expect intense, sustained efforts using ergs, barbells, kettlebells, calisthenics, and more.

Yoga – A mindful, movement-based class to restore balance, improve mobility, and build strength from the inside out. We combine breathwork, dynamic flows, and deep stretches to enhance recovery, reduce stress, and sharpen body awareness—so you leave feeling grounded, recharged, and ready to perform.

How to Use the Schedule
We designed the schedule so you can mix and match classes or go all-in on one focus.

Private Gym Access

A quick reminder: all members enjoy private gym access from 5 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week.
Use this time to knock out the training your coach has programmed—or get in any extra work you need.
